Actual Kids Smiles (created by Dr. Niepraschk)
These great kids required Phase I or pre-braces because of a narrow jaw (maxilla) or cross-bite (front or back teeth overlap incorrectly). Phase I orthodontics is recommended for kids at a younger age while they still have their baby teeth and their jaws and growth can be redirected. This corrects jaw position and creates more space for permanent teeth. Correcting these problems at a young age helps reduce the possibility of future jaw surgery, permanent teeth extraction, and potential gingival (gum) recession, and creates an environment for improved bite function, jaw growth, and permanent tooth eruption. Of course, they also benefit from an improved smile and self esteem.
